OpenAI just added pets to Codex.

Codex now has virtual pets. Type /pet to wake yours up, and /hatch to customize it. That is the entire feature. There are no productivity implications, no benchmark improvements, no enterprise use cases. OpenAI just decided that the world's most powerful coding agent needed a companion animal.

It is a small thing, but it says something interesting about where Codex is heading. Products that want to become part of your daily routine tend to add personality alongside capability. Codex has had a big few weeks on the capability side. Today it got a pet.

On the more practical side, OpenAI also launched a one-click import tool that pulls your settings, plugins, agents, and project configuration from other tools directly into Codex. If you have been on the fence about switching, the friction just got a lot lower. The message is straightforward: your setup comes with you, so there is no reason to stay somewhere else.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a newsletter.

Yeah. That Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So do Codie Sanchez, Scott Galloway, Colin & Samir, Shaan Puri, and Jay Shetty. And none of them are doing it for fun. They're doing it because a list you own compounds in ways that social media never will.

One week in, GPT-5.5 is already OpenAI's biggest model launch ever.

One week since GPT-5.5 launched and the numbers are hard to argue with. API revenue is growing more than twice as fast as any previous model release. Codex doubled its revenue in under seven days as enterprise demand for agentic coding keeps climbing. These are not vanity metrics. They reflect something real about how the model is landing with people who are actually paying to build with it.

Images 2.0 is telling a similar story. Image usage is up more than 50% compared to a few weeks ago, and nearly 60% of daily users are newly logged in, meaning the product is pulling in people who had not previously bothered to sign up. OpenAI is shipping a 360 degree image viewer on desktop now, with mobile coming next week.

Last month OpenAI was navigating a credibility crisis, three executive departures, and competitive pressure from Anthropic's Opus 4.7. One strong model launch later and the narrative has shifted entirely.

OpenAI is building a custom dictionary for voice dictation.

A custom dictionary feature is in the works for Codex and ChatGPT, letting users add their own phrases, names, and abbreviations so voice dictation actually recognizes them correctly. Anyone who has ever watched a voice tool mangle a product name or technical term will understand why this matters.

Small feature, real problem solved.
